Agave is a native plant that is found in hot and tropical climate regions like the south-western parts of the United States, Mexico, and South America. This is a perennial plant that is known for its rare life cycle of flowering and then dying off. The Agave plant is also known as the ‘century plant’.



In today’s article, we consider the beautiful plant called Chia. This plant has a lot of health and nutritional significances which you shall soon read about in the succeeding paragraphs. Its botanical name is Salvia Hispanica. Apparently, this plant got its name from the land of its origin; the Hispanic lands of America.

It also gives colour and flavour to mustards, butter, cheeses and curry powders. The roots of the turmeric plant are also used to produce medicine. The spice contains curcumin, which is a yellow coloured chemical that is used to colour cosmetics and foods.



Spirulina is a naturally occurring algae that is rich in nutrients including proteins, anti-oxidants., B vitamins and others. It is regarded as one of the most powerful source of proteins available in the plant kingdom. Spirulina is a plant with a long history and dates back billions of years ago. It is green bluish in color and is purchased as powder, tablet or supplement for improved health benefits. It is known as a super food because of its high protein value and other important nutrients.



Apparently, while some people in Africa still go around unclothed, smearing some kind of dye across their faces and living off what they could hunt, someone somewhere was buttering up their pastries (and bread) for breakfast. Basically, if I go back about ten thousand years ago, I would find butter (at least a version of the one we know now) being used for a whole lot of different purposes; most of which we no longer use butter for.
