Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV, is being used by people since a long time due to the benefits it comes with.

Following are the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar:


Gaining weight is something that nobody likes, as not only does it make you look bad, but also because it comes with its own health hazards. Apple Cider Vinegar contains acetic acid that aids in weight loss by reducing fat accumulation around your body. However, the ACV is too strong to be consumed and can be harmful if taken too much.

Thus, you can consume it in the following ways:

  • Add 1 tablespoon of ACV to one glass of water, and consume it every morning.
  • Replace the usual mayonnaise and other salad dressings with Cider Vinegar, and see the difference it makes!

ACV can be used for respiratory problems in the following way:

  • Take half a cup of water, add a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of Apple Cider
  • One may also add a teaspoon of Apple Cider to a warm glass of water, and keep sipping it, spreading it out for about half an hour.
  • In case none of the above helps, one may also take a cotton ball, soak it in Apple Cider, and press it against the inside of the wrist.

Imagine the embarrassment one would go through if they would have to remove their socks, only to realize that the people next to them are holding their breath!



Yes, smelly or stinky feet are one of the major hygienic issues people are facing these days. Contrary to the popular belief that the odor isn’t really caused because there’s something wrong with one’s feet but because the real problem is what kind of footwear  you are wearing. Tight and uncomfortable shoes are one of the primary reasons, where the feet do not get enough breathing space, as a result of which the perspiration has no place to evaporate, thus creating odor in our feet.  In order to kill the bacteria, one can soak their feet into vinegar and see the results.

Following is the method of using the said vinegar:

  • Take your foot bath or bucket, and add half a cup of apple cider to it. Swish the mixture around a bit for it to mix well, and soak your feet into it.
  • Do this for about 20 to 25 minutes a day and you will notice how the smell declines gradually.

The Apple Cider Vinegar, especially the raw, unfiltered, one, helps to balance out pH levels of one’s skin, thereby clearing out the dead cells by opening up the pores.

Also, it clears out acne and acne scars. The best part about it? It doesn’t end up burning a hole in your pocket, and does not even contain any harmful chemicals or preservatives, which only means that there would be no side-effects of using it.


Following are some of the ways Apple Cider Vinegar can be used as a face toner or cleanser:

For oily skin: Take equal portions of 1 tablespoon of water, and add 1 tablespoon of ACV to it.

For normal skin: Take 2 tablespoons of water and mix it with 1 tablespoon of ACV.

For sensitive skin: Take 4 tablespoons of water, and to it, add 1 tablespoon of ACV.

Note:   Before applying it to your face, kindly do a small “patch test” to see whether it suits the skin or not. In case of any itching or irritation, wash it off immediately with cold water, and DO NOT use it on your face.

Directions of use:

Once you’ve made the toner, store it in a clean, dry bottle and keep it in your refrigerator. Take cotton square or swab and dipping it slightly in your toner, rub it lightly all over your face.

Alternatively, you can store it in a spray bottle, and spray it lightly over your face. Also, after applying the toner, do not wash your face.


An age-old remedy, one can bet that their parents or grandparents must have made them drink this bitter potion as a child, when they complained of a sore throat.

The Apple Cider contains acidic properties that prevent the growth of further bacteria. Also, the antibacterial properties present in it can fight the bacteria that cause infection.


Following are some of the ways to use ACV  in case of a sore throat:

Method One: Add one to two tablespoons of ACV in a glass of lukewarm water. Gargle with this, and at the end of it, you may even drink a small sip of the solution.

Method Two: Take one cup of peppermint tea, and to it, add one spoon of ACV. Gargle with this mixture.

Method Three: Take one glass of orange juice (should not be chilled). To this, add a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of ACV. Drink this mixture in slow sips for a time span of about 30 minutes, and notice the difference!

Following is the way of using ACV to boost your energy next time:

  • Take your favorite juice, or even plain water, and add one or two tablespoons of ACV and drink it either before your workout; or take small sips in between a workout in order to prevent fatigue.



The Apple cider vinegar helps in controlling the blood sugar level, especially type two diabetes patients. It is because the  said vinegar improves insulin sensitivity during a high carb meal by 19-34%. Also, it has been observed that consumption of two tablespoons of ACV before going to bed have shown a drop of almost 4 to 6% in the blood sugar levels the next day.

One can add two tablespoons of the mixture to one glass of water and consume it either before their meals or before going to bed.

Following are the ways in which Apple Cider Vinegar can help in removing dandruff:

Method One: Using a cotton ball, apply ACV directly to the scalp. Take a warm towel and wrap your hair with it for an hour.

Note:  After removing the towel, wash it with water. Do not wash it off with shampoo.

Method Two: Take one cup of water, and boil the water. Post that, take one equal cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and 5 peppermint leaves, and add it to the boiled water. Allow it to steep for a couple of hours, post which, pour it into a spray bottle, and spray it daily.
