Firstly, what is candida? Candida is a yeast that usually exists in the hurtless yeast form in the digestive tract. Usually due to the effects of antibiotics, it converts to its frugal form and spreads to the whole body.

Eat non-starchy vegetables, and incorporate green leafy vegetables into your diet. Green leafy vegetables are rich in folate. This is essential for people with MTHFR gene mutations, which are very sensitive to Candida overgrowth. Steam your veggies as they are easier to digest in your gut. Greens contain high amounts of magnesium that can detox the body, and lots of Vitamin C to build immunity. It also has Vitamin B to energize the body and iron to fully support the body.

Next, are cruciferous vegetables. Eat broccoli, kale, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower ,chinese cabbage,  spinach and swiss chard. They are rich in fibre and have compounds and enzymes that can actually detoxify the body. Foods to avoid when taking Candida Diet:

First, avoid sugar. Licorice is fine, but not sugar. Sugar feeds candida. Read all the labels once, twice, thrice!  Before buying the food. Sugar has many types of names and labels. Some are healthier just be careful when doing food shopping.

Likewise, avoid fruits during the gut healing process. Stick to fruits and low-fructose like berries, citrus fruits, grapefruit and citrus fruit. They  are low in sugar and have antimicrobial properties.

You should also avoid grains that contain gluten. Glutenous grains are extremely harmful to the gut. Flours without grain like almond and hazelnut are to be used in moderation, but much later you can slowly re-add gluten-free grains into your diet.

Moreover, avoid dairy. Actually dairy are considered junk food in the U.S. The cows that produce dairy are pasteurized. The fat that contain all the vitamins are removed. They then put back the synthetic vitamins because of the lack of nutrition in the milk. It is better to take a fully grass-fed dairy product which means comes from grass-fed cow.

Lastly, avoid vegetables that contains starch. Potatoes that you eat are starch, and make the yeast in the gut grow. As you heal, slowly eat other types of starchy veggies.

 

In conclusion, you must avoid yeast and gluten foods. Bear in mind that candida could be a warning sign for you to change your daily diet.
