Kales are leaf plants that are often used for human consumption. Their characteristic color is green and are affiliated with the Brassica family. The latter is a family or clan of vegetables which falls in the same class with vegetables like cabbages as well as sprouts. In most regions, Kales are preferred by many because of their health benefits as well as the ease at which these vegetables grow. For instance, Kales can grow effortlessly and without much difficulty in regions that experience extremely low temperatures. Extremely low temperature regions are often cold and as such, barely support the growth of any kind of plants because the sun’s presence is not manifested. Types of Kales

Kales, like most vegetables, have their varieties. These varieties are; Ornamental kales, Tuscan kales and the Curly kales. It is easy to distinguish between these types of kales since each have a different appearance and look, surface (texture) and most importantly: taste. In fact, taste distinguishes or separates one type of kale from the other. Curly kale, as the name suggests, is full of curls and a fluffy surface. The stalk of the curly kales is characterized by its gristly nature, a fact that plays a major role in distinguishing it from Ornamental kales. The Curly kale can also be easily identified by its profound green color, one that misses in Ornamental and Tuscan kales.

As pointed out earlier, kales are green in shade and hue but Ornamental kales defy this aspect, since some leaves of the Ornamental type of Kales may manifest themselves in a white hue while some leaves may pass up in purple colors. Stalks of Ornamental kales habitually unify and merge to form a head-like weaved structures.

Tuscan kales present themselves blue and green leaves. The blue hue manifesting itself in Tuscan kales is not profound and as such, one might mistake a Tuscan kale for an ornamental kale. Of the three types of kales, the Tuscan types of kales take the sweetest hence are preferred by those who love eating kales.

History of Kales

To understand all about kales, one has to appreciate and delve a bit into the history of the leafy green: a favorite food for many. Kales derive their origin from a Greek word descent. Due to their axiomatic health benefits, the kale praises quickly spread to jurisdictions and regions like Asia and the entire regions of Europe. The period affiliated with kales being introduced in Europe range from 600 BC to 620 BC. Sticking to the periods of kale introduction in Europe, the citizens of the United States of America first tasted kale in the 17th Century.

It is a known fact that Iron is an extremely important element in the body each and every human being. Beef is known to be the major food affiliated with granting Iron to its consumers.
